Application Performance Monitoring

What is Application Performance Monitoring?

Application performance monitoring (APM) is a process of monitoring and managing the performance of applications in an IT environment. These solutions enable organizations to monitor and track the performance of their applications and identify and resolve issues that can affect the application's performance, such as slow response times, errors, and bottlenecks.

Typically solutions use a range of metrics such as response time, CPU usage, memory usage, and network latency to monitor application performance. APM solutions may also include features such as transaction tracing, log analytics, and synthetic monitoring to provide additional insights into application performance.

APM is important for ensuring that applications perform as expected and meet the needs of users and the business. Identifying and resolving performance issues quickly and helps organizations improve the user experience, reduce downtime, and increase productivity.
